Payment fees

Understand how payment fees work with Stripe and Get Ink

Updated 2 weeks ago

When you take payments through Get Ink, Stripe securely processes the transaction - but like all payment platforms, there are some fees involved. This guide explains what to expect so there are no surprises.

Stripe charges a processing fee on each payment. This fee covers things like payment handling, fraud protection, and secure transfers.

πŸ’‘ Stripe fees vary based on the payment method and the currency you’re charging in.

You can always see the exact and up-to-date fees on Stripe’s website:

Get Ink Platform fee

We also charge a small fixed platform fee to help cover features like:

Booking reminders via SMS and email

Payment link generation

Admin and scheduling tools

This fee is collected automatically per transaction, and varies by currency.

πŸ’¬ You can choose to pass this fee on to your client.

For example, if you set a £50 deposit, the client would be charged £51 total - covering both the deposit and the platform fee.

This way, your payout remains the same, and the platform features are still covered. You can change this on a per appointment basis.

Get Ink supports several currencies - here are the fixed platform fees:

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ GBP £1.00
πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί EUR
€1.00
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ USD $1.30
πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ CAD $2.00
πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί AUD $2.00

‘Buy now, pay later’ services

Clients can spread the cost of their payment with services like Klarna or Clearpay/Afterpay. These generally have higher fees, which we make clear to you in the app. You can disable these payment methods feature if you prefer.

πŸ“Œ Key things to remember:

You receive the net amount after Stripe and platform fees are deducted.

Fees vary based on currency and payment method.

All fees are visible in your Stripe transaction details, we recommend downloading the Stripe app.

Some payment methods (like Klarna or Afterpay) cost more to use, but give your clients flexibility.
